I am here to help you make your good relationship great!

How? By teaching you how to get on the same page and create agreement, how to talk through challenging issues productively, how to keep the positive vibes alive in your marriage, and how to work together as a team through the ups and downs of your shared life together. None of those things just happen. Couples need to create all of the above intentionally

I offer pre-marital and pre-engagement, and long term dating counseling for couples who are in a serious relationship, or considering engagement and marriage. This is an important investment towards developing a long-lasting, healthy, and fulfilling relationship.

With the advancement of technology over the past 20 years, learning to communicate effectively is becoming more and more difficult for people to navigate. Many people have not learned how to communicate in an intimate, loving relationship.

It is imperative to learn not only how to communicate your feelings, but make sure you are providing a safe environment for your partner to communicate theirs.

What we want in a loving relationship is safety and security. I will be happy to teach you the skills to get everything you need to have the relationship of your dreams.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, (LMFT) a have been trained in Marriage Counseling and Couples Therapy, for those not yet married. In addition, I am a Certified Prepare-Enrich Facilitator and we will be following their program in your premarital and relationship therapy.

Couples therapy typically lasts approximately 7-10 sessions, but can vary depending on any additional issues that may need to be addressed by a relationship expert.

After conducting an extensive assessment of each couple’s strengths and areas for growth through both clinical interviewing and thorough computer assessments, I provide couples with a place to learn about and process their differences, learn the fundamental elements of healthy relationships and how to ensure, and plan for the future.

For those preparing for marriage, research reviewing numerous premarital counseling effectiveness studies found that couples who participate in pre-marriage preparation report on average a 30% stronger marriage than couples who did not participate in pre-marriage counseling (Stanley, Amato, Johnson & Markman, 2006). Don’t wait until you’re married to start working on your relationship. Learn what makes healthy, satisfying, and sustainable marriage. Invest in your future together by scheduling your first pre-marital or pre-engagement counseling session today.

What to expect in your Couples Therapy

Assesses Your Relationship

We will begin with you taking the Prepare/Enrich online assessment that I register you for. The online assessment covers various areas within the relationship including communication, conflict resolution, finances, and spiritual beliefs. In addition, the assessment will explore your personality, family of origin, and relationship dynamics. Over 30 customized categories, such as previous marriage and expecting a child, ensure your experience with your results will feel accurate and relevant to your relationship.

Prepare/enrich IS

  • A momentary snapshot of your relationship
  • A catalyst for discussion between you and your partner
  • A proven means to lower your risk of divorce
  • An accurate, research-based report of your relationship strength and growth areas
  • A valid and reliable source of relationship enrichment

Prepare/enrich IS NOT

  • A reflection of what your relationship historically has been or will be in the future
  • A compatibility report or a test you can pass or fail
  • A guarantee for a successful relationship
  • A measure that indicates you should break up or get married
  • A replacement for professional relationship counseling

What Can Come From Couples Therapy

Encourages Meaningful Conversations
This work helps you recognize and build on the strengths you already have as a couple, while gently exploring the areas that may need more attention. As you move through the process, you’ll begin to have more open, meaningful conversations that support your growth and deepen your connection.

Strengthens Your Relationship Skills
Using the Prepare/Enrich program, you’ll be guided through practical exercises designed to strengthen your relationship. You’ll develop skills like communicating more clearly, listening with intention, and responding to each other with greater understanding and care—skills that help you feel more connected and supported over time.

Supports a Stronger, More Lasting Relationship
Research shows that couples who invest in premarital counseling often build a more stable foundation and lower their risk of future relationship distress. Rather than leaving things to chance, this process gives you the opportunity to be intentional about how you grow together and navigate challenges as a team.
